Device Overview

The Texas Instruments LP8864-Q1 high efficiency LED driver is equipped with a boost controller. The four high-precision current traps support phase shifting, i.e., they are automatically adjusted according to the number of channels used, and the LED brightness can be globally controlled via the I2C interface or PWM input. The boost converter provides adaptive output voltage control based on the residual voltage of the LED current traps. This feature minimises power consumption by regulating the boost voltage to the lowest level that will satisfy the need under all conditions. A wide range of adjustable frequencies allows the LP8864-Q1 to avoid interference in the AM radio band.The LP8864-Q1 supports built-in hybrid PWM dimming and analogue current dimming, which reduces EMI, extends LED life, and improves overall optical efficiency.
