1.Description

The MAX3078EESA 3.3V, ±15kV ESD protected RS-485/RS-422 transceivers have a driver and a receiver. These devices contain fail-safe circuitry that guarantees the receiver output logic high when the receiver input is open or shorted. The receiver outputs logic high when all transmitters on the terminated bus are disabled (high impedance).The MAX3070E-MAX3079E have a hot-swap feature that eliminates error disturbances during power-up or hot-plugging.

The MAX3070E/MAX3071E/MAX3072E feature a rate-limiting driver that minimises EMI and reduces reflections due to improper cable termination, and supports error-free data transfers of up to 250kbps. The MAX3073E/MAX3074E/MAX3075E also feature a rate-limiting driver, but support transfer rates of up to 500kbps. The MAX3076E/MAX3077E/MAX3078E drivers have unlimited slew rate, allowing transfer rates up to 16Mbps. The MAX3079E has pin-selectable slew rate and supports transfer rates of 250kbps, 500kbps, and 16Mbps.
