Introduction

The EXAMAX2® backplane connector system supports the 112Gb/s PAM4 industry specification. It maintains mating interface compatibility with previous ExaMAX® products, providing designers with cost/performance flexibility. The mating interface and connector design is optimised to support the demanding electrical and mechanical requirements of 112G systems, and the EXAMAX2® offers industry-leading SI performance including RL, ILD and reflection.

Electrical Performance

• Contact resistance: 20mV max, 100mA current
• Dielectric Resistance 500VDC
• Dielectric strength: 500VDC

Mechanical Performance

• > 2 mm long mating wipe
• X- and Y-catch width 1.1 mm
• Insertion and extraction force: 0.35N per contact max.
• Unmating force: 0.10N minimum per contact

ENVIRONMENT

• Operating temperature range: -55°C to +85°C
