BMI270 Product Description
The Bosch BMI270 is an ultra-low power 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) optimised for wearable devices, integrating a 16-bit three-axis accelerometer and a 16-bit three-axis gyroscope. It features a compact 2.5mm × 3.0mm × 0.8mm package and is suitable for applications such as smartwatches, fitness trackers, and AR/VR devices.
The BMI270 is based on Bosch MEMS process technology and features a self-calibrating gyroscope (via the static component re-tuning (CRT) function), ensuring sensitivity error as low as ±0.4% after soldering. The BMI270 also supports a plug-and-play pedometer, optimising step detection accuracy for wrist-worn devices.

Ultra-low power consumption design
BMI270 consumes as little as 10μA in accelerometer-only mode and 685μA in full-function mode.
Operates independently of the main processor for gesture recognition and activity tracking, with power consumption as low as 30μA.
Smart motion sensing

‘Gesture Edition’ (supports wrist flick, arm swing, etc.)
‘Scenario/Activity Edition’ (recognises standing, walking, and in-vehicle status).
Built-in 2kB FIFO reduces main controller intervention and optimises power consumption.
