Introduction:

The MLX90374 is a monolithic magnetic position processor integrated circuit. It consists of a Triaxis® Hall magnetic front end, an analogue-to-digital signal conditioner, a DSP for advanced signal processing, and a dual output stage driver.The MLX90374 is very sensitive to the three components of the magnetic flux density (i.e., Bx, By, and Bz) that are applied to the integrated circuit.

This allows the MLX90374 to decode the absolute position of any moving magnet (e.g., 0 to 360 degree rotational position or linear displacement, see Figure 2) through the correct magnetic circuit. This makes it possible to design non-contact position sensors that are often required in automotive and industrial applications.
