MLX90372GVS-ADE-318-RE, MLX90372GVS Hall Effect Position Sensor Description:

The MLX90372 is a third-generation Triaxis® position sensor IC, a monolithic device that senses the three spatial components of the applied field (i.e., Bx, By, and Bz) in a non-contact manner by virtue of the collector magnetisation points (IMCs) on its surface, supporting the determination of rotational and linear motion.

The MLX90372 is distinguished by the availability of a stray field immunity mode for rotational and linear motion sensing for the first time in a Triaxis® sensor IC. This mode eliminates or significantly reduces the effect on the system of unwanted magnetic fields generated by other magnets or current-carrying conductors. Rotary motion over a 180-degree range can be achieved with a four-pole magnet; linear motion over a 25mm range or more can be achieved with a two-pole magnet.

In addition, the MLX90372 is backward compatible with previous generations of Triaxis® products, allowing the use of traditional bipolar magnets with 360-degree rotational measurement capability or linear motion in excess of 25mm in the same device, but without stray field immunity.
