Mingjiada Electronics Distribution [Microchip Ethernet] The LAN9252I/ML is a 2/3-port EtherCAT device controller (ESC) featuring dual integrated Ethernet PHYs, each containing a full-duplex 100BASE-TX transceiver that supports 100Mbps (100BASE-TX) operation.
The LAN9252 supports HP Auto-MDIX, allowing the use of direct connect or crossover LAN cables. Supporting 100BASE-FX via an external fibre optic transceiver, the device provides a cost-effective solution for system developers to implement EtherCAT device solutions.
The LAN9252 includes a 3-port EtherCAT device controller with 4K bytes of dual-port memory (DPRAM), 4 synchronisation managers, 3 fieldbus memory management units (FMMUs) and a 64-bit distributed clock.
It supports four process data interfaces - SPI/SQI, HBI, and a 16-bit digital IO. SPI and SQI (high-speed SPI) provide low-pin-count synchronous slave interfaces to facilitate communication between the device and the host system. The host bus interface, on the other hand, performs the same function with a high-speed asynchronous slave interface. For simple digital modules without a microcontroller, the LAN9252 can also operate in digital I/O mode, where the EtherCAT master can control or monitor 16 digital signals.
