Overview:

The KSZ8864 is a highly integrated Layer 2 managed 4-port switch with an optimised design, rich features and small package size.The KSZ8864 is Automotive Approved (AEC-Q100).

The KSZ8864 is designed for cost-sensitive 10/100Mbps 4-port switch systems. On-chip termination, low power consumption, and a small package save system cost, and the KSZ8864 features a shared memory-based switching fabric for a completely non-blocking configuration.

The KSZ8864 also offers an extensive feature set including: power management, programmable rate limiting and priority ratios, tag/port based VLANs, packet filtering, Quality of Service (QoS), four queue priorities, management interface, and MIB counters. Ports 3 and 4 support MII or RMII interfaces.The KSZ8864 provides multiple CPU control/data interfaces to effectively address a variety of Fast Ethernet applications.

The KSZ8864 consists of four MACs and two PHYs. two PHYs support 10/100Base-T/TX. all registers of the MAC and PHY units can be managed through the SPI or SMI control interfaces. the MIIM registers of the PHYs can be accessed through the MDC/MDIO interface. In unmanaged mode, the EEPROM can set all control registers through the I2C control interface.
