This characteristic is crucial for applications such as synchronous rectification, which require strict timing coordination between the two gates; a matching accuracy of 1 ns ensures that the turn-on and turn-off times of the two switching devices are highly synchronised.

 

III. Wide Voltage Range and Compatibility

The UCC27524 supports a single-supply voltage range of 4.5 V to 18 V. The input pins are designed with TTL- and CMOS-compatible logic thresholds, which are independent of the supply voltage VDD. This means it is fully compatible with the logic levels of microcontrollers operating at common voltage levels such as 3.3 V and 5 V.

 

A wide hysteresis of approximately 1 V between the high and low thresholds provides excellent noise immunity; even if noise or ringing of a certain amplitude is superimposed on the input signal, it will not cause the output state to flip incorrectly.

The UCC27524’s input pins are capable of directly handling negative voltages down to –5V. The UCC27524 features VDD under-voltage lock-out (UVLO) protection; when VDD is in the UVLO state, the output remains at a low level, ensuring interference-free operation during power-up and power-down. When the input is left floating, the output also remains at a low level, effectively preventing accidental conduction. Each output channel also provides independent enable functions (ENA and ENB pins), allowing flexible control of each channel’s output according to system requirements.
