Mingjiada Electronics Supply ON NCV7707 Door Module Driver Chip, For Automotive Body Control Systems
In the process of evolving automotive body electronics towards distributed architecture, the front door module needs to drive multiple loads such as rearview mirrors, door lock motors, and interior/exterior lighting within a limited space. ON Semiconductor's NCV7707 series Door module driver ICs have become one of the mainstream choices for Decentralized Door Electronic Systems due to their ability to integrate multi-way half-bridges and high-side drivers ON a single chip.
Shenzhen Mingjiada Electronics Co., Ltd. is deeply involved in the distribution of electronic components and provides long-term spot supply of ON automotive-grade driver chips such as the NCV7707 (NCV7707DQCR2G), providing highly integrated and reliable one-stop component supply support for automotive body control systems.
The NCV7707 is a powerful driver for automotive body control systems. The device is designed to control several loads at the front of the vehicle. The monolithic IC is capable of controlling mirror functions such as mirror positioning, heating, and folding, including electrochromic mirror functions. In addition to two half-bridge outputs for controlling the lock and safety lock motors, the NCV7707 also has four high-end outputs for driving LED or incandescent bulbs (up to 10W). For maximum flexibility, all lighting outputs can be PWM controlled via PWM input (external signal source) or via an internal programmable PWM generator unit. The NCV7707 is controlled via a 24-bit SPI interface with in-fram response.
NCV7707 Core Parameters and Functional Architecture
Operating range from 5.5 V to 28 V
Six high side drivers and six low side drivers are connected as a half bridge
Four high side light drivers
A high-side driver for mirror heating
electrochromic mirror control
Independent PWM function for all outputs
Integrated programmable PWM generator unit for all lamp driver outputs
Programmable soft start function to drive the load with a higher inrush current as the current limit
Multi-channel current sensing analog output for advanced load monitoring
Very low current consumption in standby mode
Charge pump output to control external reverse polarity protection MOSFET
24-bit SPI interface for output control and diagnostics
Short circuit, overvoltage and overtemperature protection
Typical application scenario: Distributed door electronic system
Traditional centralized body control modules (BCMs) centrally control all door loads, requiring a large number of wiring harnesses to connect each door, which is costly and inconvenient to maintain. With the adoption of a distributed architecture, each door is equipped with an independent sub-module that communicates with the central BCU via the CAN/LIN bus, greatly simplifying the wiring harness design.
In a typical distributed front door control module, the NCV7707 is typically used in conjunction with the system base chip NCV7462 (integrated CAN/LIN transceiver, LDO, relay drive, etc.).
Typical load scenarios covered by the NCV7707:
Rearview mirror system: position adjustment, automatic folding, heating and defrosting, electrochromic anti-glare
Door lock mechanism: central lock motor, safety lock motor (two sets of half-axle drive)
Door lighting: turn signals, floor lights, LED interior lights (supports PWM dimming and soft start)
Body Control Unit (BCU): As a local drive node in a distributed architecture
