Shenzhen Mingjiada Electronics Co., Ltd. — Recycles the [TI] TPS7H5008MPWTSEP radiation-hardened, 2 MHz, current-mode PWM controller. This device features an internal precision reference of 0.613 V ±0.7% and can be configured for switching frequencies up to 2 MHz. Each device offers programmable slope compensation and soft-start functionality.

 

The TI TPS7H5008MPWTSEP is a high-speed, radiation-hardened PWM controller manufactured using space-grade enhanced plastic (SEP). It can be driven by an external clock via the SYNC pin, or by an internal oscillator at a user-programmable frequency. The TPS7H5008MPWTSEP offers numerous features that facilitate the design of DC/DC converter topologies for space applications.

 

The TPS7H5008MPWTSEP is part of TI’s TPS7H500x-SEP series, housed in an aerospace-enhanced plastic (SEP) package, and features the following key characteristics:
1. Exceptional radiation hardening
This is the device’s core advantage, designed specifically to withstand various radiation effects in space:
Resistance to single-electron effects (SEL, SEB, SEGR): Immunity to linear energy transfer (LET) of up to 43 MeV-cm²/mg.
Total ionising dose (TID): Guaranteed radiation hardening of up to 50 krad(Si) per wafer batch.
Materials and Processes: Utilising gold bonding wires and a NiPdAu lead coating, and complying with NASA ASTM E595 outgassing specifications, ensuring long-term stability in vacuum environments.
2. High-Performance Power Management Architecture
Wide Input Voltage Range: Supports an input voltage range of 4 V to 14 V.
High-Frequency Operation: The switching frequency can be configured from 100 kHz to 2 MHz. Higher frequencies allow for the use of smaller transformers and capacitors, contributing to high-density power supply designs.
High-Precision Reference Voltage: An integrated 0.613 V reference voltage source with an accuracy of +0.7% / -1%.
Current-mode control: Provides fast transient response and inherent cycle-by-cycle current-limit protection.
3. Flexible Control and Protection Features
External clock synchronisation: An external clock signal can be applied via the SYNC pin, facilitating multi-phase interleaved operation.
Programmable features: Supports programmable slope compensation, soft start, dead time and leading-edge blanking time.
Package: Available in a 24-pin TSSOP package.
