ADI — LTC4364 Series Surge Suppressors with Ideal Diode (Humanoid Robot Chip)
1. Detailed Description:
The LTC4364 surge suppressor features an ideal diode controller that protects the load from damage caused by high-voltage transients. By controlling the voltage drop across an external N-channel MOSFET transfer device, this device limits and regulates the output during overvoltage events (e.g. sudden load drops in automotive applications). Additionally, the LTC4364 incorporates a timed current-limiting circuit breaker. In the event of a fault, an adjustable fault timer must elapse before the transfer device is switched off. The LTC4364-1 will lock out the switching device, whilst the LTC4364-2 will automatically restart after a delay. The LTC4364 precisely monitors the input supply for overvoltage (OV) and undervoltage (UV) conditions. The external MOSFET remains off during undervoltage conditions, and the automatic retry function is disabled during overvoltage conditions.
