EVAL-ISO1H816G is a demonstration board featuring isolated 2×8-channel 1.2A digital outputs. The EVAL-ISO1H816G circuit board is designed to showcase the performance of the ISOFACE® series ISO1H816G device, whose isolated interface outputs can directly drive resistive, capacitive, or inductive loads. Inputs are driven by 3.3V/5V CMOS-compatible signals via connector K3. These inputs operate in microcontroller mode using a chip select signal and clock signal. The outputs comprise two sets of 8-channel high-side switches rated at 1.2A. Each output features a channel-selectable over-temperature protection switch (automatically disconnecting during over-temperature conditions).

1. Overview:
The ISO1H816G is an electrically isolated 8-channel 1.2A high-side switch suitable for PLCs and industrial control systems. The ISO1H81xG series offers parallel and serial 3.3 V/5 V microcontroller interfaces for direct connection to virtually any microcontroller, microprocessor, ASIC, or FPGA. ISO1H81xG products support OEM designs meeting stringent EMI requirements for IEC 61131-2 (Zone C) compliance in programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

The EVAL-ISO1H816G evaluation board incorporates two mutually isolated electrical domains. Input interfaces are powered via pins 1 and 14 of K3. Jumper K4 allows selection between direct power supply from pin 1 of K3 (jumper 1-2 for 3.3V/5V VCC) or the on-board 5V regulator (jumper 2-3). The output stage is powered via pins 1 and 10 of K2, with Vbb supplied by K2. Different voltage domains may be enabled at different times. The output stage activates only after the input stage has reached a stable state.
