The ADXRS453 is a high-performance, digital-output, vibration-resistant MEMS gyroscope developed by ADI. It utilises an advanced differential Quad-Sensor™ design, which effectively suppresses the effects of linear acceleration, maintaining high-precision angular rate detection even under severe shock and vibration conditions.
The ADXRS453 employs an internal continuous self-test architecture. The integrity of the electromechanical system is verified by applying a high-frequency electrostatic force to the sensing structure to generate a rate signal, which is then distinguished from the baseband rate data and analysed internally.
The ADXRS453 can detect angular rates of up to ±300°/s. Angular rate data is provided as a 16-bit word, forming part of a 32-bit SPI message.
