1. Details:

The TI TPSM82866 series comprises 4A and 6A step-down converter power supply modules designed to achieve compact form factors and high efficiency. The DCS-Control architecture enables tight output voltage regulation (even when paired with small output capacitors) and excellent load transient performance. These converters operate in PWM mode under medium to high load conditions and automatically enter power-saving mode at light loads, thereby maintaining high efficiency across the entire load current range.

This series of modules is based on TI’s MagPack™ integrated magnetic packaging technology, which integrates a synchronous buck converter and inductor into a single unit.

Ultra-compact size: Utilising a 2.3 mm × 3.0 mm × 1.95 mm QFN package, the overall design footprint is just 28 mm². Compared to the previous generation, the volume has been reduced by 50 per cent and power density has doubled.

High efficiency and low power consumption: Conversion efficiency of up to 96 per cent; operating quiescent current of just 4 µA, with a shutdown current as low as 0.24 µA.

Electrical performance: Input voltage range of 2.4 V to 5.5 V, with an output current of up to 6 A.

Accuracy and Protection: Output voltage accuracy of ±1 per cent. Integrated under-voltage lock-out (UVLO), over-temperature protection (thermal shutdown threshold of 150°C) and HICCUP short-circuit protection.

Operating Temperature: Industrial grade, ranging from –40°C to +125°C
