Introduction

The Motorcomm-YT8011AN in-vehicle chip is an in-vehicle Gigabit single-pair Ethernet physical layer transceiver that supports operation over unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable. The transceiver complies with the Ethernet physical layer portion of 100/1000BASE-T1 as defined by the IEEE 802.3bw and IEEE 802.3bp standards, including auto-negotiation, link synchronisation, and OAM functions.

Supports both the Reduced Gigabit Media Independent Interface (RGMII) and the Serial Gigabit Media Independent Interface (SGMII). Supports 3.3V/2.5V/1.8V I/O signals for RGMII.

The YT8011A supports the Sleep (SLEEP)/Wake-up (WAKE) function of Car Ethernet; the SLEEP function enables the Ethernet physical layer transceiver to enter into sleep mode for lower power consumption, while the WAKE function effectively wakes up the Ethernet physical layer transceiver from the sleep mode to the normal operation mode.

The YT8011A uses state-of-the-art mixed-signal technology and analogue front-end (AFE) for high-speed data transmission and reception over UTP cables.The YT8011A implements adaptive equalisation, crosstalk cancellation, echo cancellation, data recovery, and error correction to provide powerful 100Mbps or 1000Mbps transmission and reception. It offers high electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection and excellent electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) performance.
