VCNL4040M3OE Description

The VCNL4040 integrates a proximity sensor (PS), an ambient light sensor (ALS), and a high-power IRED in a small package using a CMOS process that integrates a photodiode, amplifier, and analog-to-digital converter circuitry into a single chip. 16-bit, high-resolution ALSs provide excellent sensing capability, and there are enough options for most applications, whether they're dark-lens or high-lens designs. Both the ALS and PS have programmable high and low interrupt thresholds, allowing the device to use minimal microcontroller resources.
