LT3471EDD dual-channel switching regulator combines two 42V, 1.3A switches with an error amplifier capable of detecting ground-level conditions, providing both boost and negative output conversion functionality. Low VCESAT bipolar switches enable high current output within a compact footprint.
Operating at a 1.2MHz switching frequency, the LT3471EDD permits the use of compact, low-cost, low-profile inductors and capacitors. A programmable soft-start feature eliminates high inrush currents during startup, where an external RC network sets the current ramp rate. The constant-frequency current-mode PWM architecture produces predictable, low output noise that is easily filtered.
The LT3471EDD switches are rated up to 42V, making the device ideal for boost converters up to ±40V, as well as SEPIC and flyback designs. In a SEPIC design, each channel can generate a 5V output from a 3.3V supply at currents up to 630mA, or a 5V/510mA output from four alkaline batteries. The LT3471EDD can be configured as two boost converters, one boost converter and one negative output converter, or two negative output converters.
The LT3471EDD is housed in a low-profile (0.75mm height) 10-pin 3mm x 3mm DFN package.
