The RZ/V2H-EVK evaluation kit is a hardware platform designed by Renesas to assess its flagship vision AI microprocessor, the RZ/V2H. The kit's core objective is to enable developers to easily initiate and validate low-power, high-performance AI inference and complex video processing applications.

The kit adopts a modular ‘CPU board + expansion board’ design, with hardware configuration directly optimised for machine vision and AI workloads:
Powerful Core and Memory: Based on the quad-core RZ/V2H MPU and equipped with up to 16GB (2×8GB) of LPDDR4X memory, it provides ample bandwidth and capacity for processing high-resolution image streams and large neural network models.
Extensive Vision and High-Speed Interfaces: Integrated with 4-channel MIPI CSI-2 camera interfaces and 1-channel MIPI DSI display interface, supporting synchronous multi-camera acquisition. The expansion board provides HDMI output for convenient demonstrations. High-speed data interfaces form another key feature, including PCIe Gen3, USB 3.2 Gen2, and dual Gigabit Ethernet, ensuring seamless data exchange with AI accelerator cards, high-speed storage, and networks.

The RZ/Five evaluation board kit, built upon Renesas' first general-purpose RISC-V MPU—the RZ/Five—provides developers with a high-performance platform to explore the 64-bit RISC-V ecosystem.
1. Hardware and Core Features
The RISC-V MPU's core is the Andes AX45MP single-core CPU, based on the 64-bit RISC-V instruction set architecture, operating at up to 1.0 GHz. The evaluation kit adopts a System-on-Module (SOM) form factor compliant with the SMARC v2.1 standard, enhancing module reusability and facilitating integration into end products.
Its peripheral configuration is optimised for edge connectivity scenarios such as IoT gateways:
Connectivity: Equipped with dual Gigabit Ethernet interfaces and dual USB 2.0 channels to meet multi-network access and device connectivity requirements.
Industrial Control: Integrated dual CAN channels enable direct connection to industrial fieldbuses.
