The Broadcom® BCM84891B0IFSBG is a single-port 10GBASE-T/5GBASE-T/2.5GBASE-T/1000BASE-T/100BASE-TX Ethernet CMOS transceiver. The device performs all physical layer functions for 10GBASE-T, 5GBASE-T, 2.5GBASE-T, 1000BASE-T, and 100BASE-TX Ethernet over Cat5e, 6, or Category 6A twisted pair.

The BCM84891B0IFSBG is a highly integrated solution supporting USXGMII, XFI, 5000BASE-R/5000BASE-X, 2500BASE-R/2500BASE-X and 1000BASE-X (SGMII) MAC interfaces.

The BCM84891B0IFSBG utilizes the Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) protocol.EEE enables the BCM84891L to auto-negotiate and operate with EEE-compliant link partners, reducing overall system power consumption during times of low link utilization.Broadcom's AutogrEEEn® mode allows legacy systems to take advantage of the power-saving benefits of EEE.

The BCM84891B0IFSBG features enhanced cable diagnostics to detect common cable problems such as shorts, opens and cable lengths.
