OPA855IDSGR Description

The OPA855IDSGR is a wideband, low-noise operational amplifier with bipolar inputs, suitable for broadband transimpedance and voltage amplifier applications. When configured as a transimpedance amplifier (TIA), its 8GHz gain-bandwidth product (GBWP) enables transimpedance gains up to tens of kiloohms in low-capacitance photodiode applications.

The figure below illustrates the amplifier's bandwidth and noise performance as a function of photodiode capacitance when the OPA855 is configured as a TIA. The bandwidth range for calculating total noise spans from DC to the frequency (f) plotted on the left axis. The OPA855 package includes a feedback pin (FB) to simplify the connection of feedback networks between the input and output.

The OPA855IDSGR is optimized for operation in optical time-of-flight (ToF) systems, where it pairs with time-to-digital converters such as the TDC7201.
