Details Of MP5048GU

MP5048GU is a monolithic integrated control switch with high-end MOSFETs and other circuits, which can be used independently or controlled by a hot-swap controller. A single MP5048 can drive up to 15A of continuous current. When the board is plugged into a powered backplane power supply, the MP5048 can be used to limit the inrush current to the load, thereby limiting the voltage drop across the backplane.

The MP5048GU limits the internal MOSFET current by controlling the gate voltage at the current limit reference input. the MP5048 is feature rich and simplifies system design. It integrates output current and on-chip temperature monitoring, eliminating the need for external current-sampling power resistors, power MOSFETs, and temperature-sampling devices.The MP5048 detects power FET gate, source, and drain short circuits and feeds them back to the controller.The MP5048 can also be connected in parallel for higher-current applications.
