Infineon’s MOTIX™ series of motor control SoCs (System-on-Chip) and SiPs (System-in-Package) are highly integrated solutions designed for brushed DC motors (BDC) and brushless DC motors (BLDC). They integrate core modules such as MCUs, power management, communication, gate drivers, OptiMOS™ power MOSFETs and other core modules into a single chip or package. I. Core Architecture: SoC/SiP Integrated Solutions
Infineon’s motor control SoC/SiP solutions are based on the Arm® Cortex®-M core and are categorised into three types according to their level of integration:
SoC (System-on-Chip): MCU + driver + power supply + communication integrated onto a single wafer (e.g. TLE989x, TLE994x/TLE995x)
SiP (System-in-Package): Multiple chips / power devices packaged within a single housing (e.g. IMD700A, TLE9954QSW)
SBC (System-on-Baseboard): Driver + power supply + communication integrated, designed to interface with an external MCU
