Mingjiada offers genuine, in-stock Sony IMX446 and IMX447 CMOS image sensors specifically designed for endoscopes, providing a core imaging solution featuring “ultra-compact size + high sensitivity + high frame rate” for flexible endoscope probes, thereby helping medical devices meet the core requirements of minimally invasive, high-definition, real-time imaging.
I. Key Performance Advantages, Tailored to the Demanding Requirements of Medical Endoscopes
1. Ultra-compact size, facilitating minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment
Measuring just 1.96mm × 1.96mm, the IMX446 chip is one of the smallest image sensors currently available in the medical endoscopy sector. It can be embedded into ultra-thin flexible endoscope probes, significantly reducing insertion trauma and patient discomfort; The IMX447 maintains the benefits of miniaturisation whilst enhancing resolution, making it suitable for mid-to-high-end high-definition endoscopy applications. Both models utilise ultra-thin WCSP packaging, reducing probe size and improving insertion flexibility and patient comfort.
2. High Sensitivity + DOL HDR, Clear Imaging in Low-Light / Complex Environments
Equipped with Sony’s proprietary back-illuminated sensor technology and a 1.62μm large-pixel design, it significantly improves light sensitivity. In low-light conditions within body cavities, it produces bright, low-noise images without the need for strong illumination, thereby reducing the irritation of bright light on mucous membranes. It also supports DOL HDR (Digital Overlay High Dynamic Range), which captures both bright areas (such as reflections from surgical instruments) and dark areas (such as details in tissue folds) simultaneously, preventing overexposure or underexposure and ensuring comprehensive clinical observation without blind spots or loss of detail.
3. 120fps high frame rate, real-time motion without trailing
With a maximum frame rate of 120fps—far exceeding the standard 30fps of conventional endoscopes—it captures the movement of rapidly moving tissues and instruments in real time. The image is smooth, with no trailing or stuttering, providing clinicians with continuous, clear visual feedback to precisely support delicate surgical procedures such as biopsies and polypectomies.
4. SLVS-EC Interface, Stable Long-Distance Transmission
Utilising the SLVS-EC high-speed serial interface, it supports lossless transmission over distances of up to 5 metres, meeting the long-distance connection requirements between endoscope probes and host units. It also reduces the number of pins, simplifies probe circuit design, lowers equipment failure rates, and enhances mass production stability. The IMX447 supports flexible 1/2-lane configuration, making it suitable for endoscopic systems with varying bandwidth requirements.
II. Application Scenarios
IMX446: Suitable for ultra-thin flexible endoscopes (e.g. paediatric, ENT, cholangioscopy), single-use endoscopes, and portable minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic devices, prioritising extreme miniaturisation and cost-effectiveness.
IMX447: Suitable for high-end gastrointestinal endoscopes, laparoscopes, bronchoscopes and similar applications, used in clinical diagnostics and minimally invasive surgery requiring high-definition detail, balancing resolution with smooth imaging performance.
