Device Description Of BUF16821AIPWPRQ1

The BUF16821AIPWPRQ1 provides 16 programmable gamma channels, and two programmable VCOM channels. The final gamma and VCOM values can be stored in on-chip, non-volatile memory. The device supports up to 16 write operations to on-chip memory in case of programming errors or to restart the liquid crystal display (LCD) panel.

The device has two separate memory banks that enable simultaneous storage of two different gamma profiles, making switching between gamma profiles easier. All gamma and VCOM channels provide a rail-to-rail output that typically swings within 150mV of either supply rail at 10mA load. All channels can be programmed using an I2C interface that supports standard operation up to 400kHz and high speed data transfer up to 2.7MHz.

The device is fabricated using Texas Instruments' (TI) proprietary, state-of-the-art high-voltage CMOS process. This process provides high density logic and high supply voltage operation up to 20V. The device is available in a heatsinkable thin small form factor (HTSSOP)-28 PowerPAD package and is rated for operation over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.
