1. Description
The DP83TG721RRHARQ1 is an automotive 1000Base-T1 Ethernet physical layer transceiver that complies with IEEE 802.3bp and Open Alliance standards.The DP83TG721-Q1 provides all the physical layer functionality required to send and receive data over unshielded/shielded, single twisted-pair cable. The device provides xMII flexibility and supports both RGMII and SGMII MAC interfaces.
The DP83TG721-Q1 supports the OA TC10 low-power hibernation function (with wake-up forwarding), which reduces system power consumption when communication is not required. The device is supplied with a diagnostic toolkit containing a number of real-time monitoring tools, debugging tools and test patterns.
The DP83TG721-Q1 integrates IEEE 1588v2/802.1AS hardware timestamps and fractional PLLs for highly accurate time synchronisation. The fractional PLL enables frequency/phase synchronisation of wall clocks without the need for external VCXOs and generates a wide range of time-synchronised frequencies required for audio, video and other ADAS applications.
The DP83TG721-Q1 also integrates IEEE 1722 CRF decoding to generate media clocks (wall-clock synchronisation) for AVB and other audio standards.The DP83TG721-Q1 also generates FSYNC/SCLK (wall-clock synchronisation) for I2S/TDM8 interfaces required for audio applications.
The DP83TG721-Q1 is compatible with Texas Instruments' 100BASE-T1 PHY and 1000BASE-T1 PHY, allowing designs to be scaled for both speeds with a single board.
