VSC8562XKS-14, VSC8562XKS-11 Device Overview:
The VSC8562 is a low-power, dual-port Gigabit Ethernet transceiver with two SerDes interfaces for dual-port, dual-media functionality. It also includes an integrated dual-port, two-wire serial multiplexer (MUX) for controlling SFP or PoE modules. It features low electromagnetic interference (EMI) line drivers and integrated line-side termination resistors to save power and printed circuit board (PCB) space.
The VSC8562 device includes Intellisec™, Microsemi's implementation of the IEEE 802.1AE 128/256-bit MACsec protocol, which meets the requirements for securing Ethernet LAN data. It features input classification, frame encryption/decryption, performance and latency monitoring.
The VSC8562 also supports ring resiliency, which allows 1000BASE-T connected PHY ports to switch between master and slave timings without interrupting the 1000BASE-T link.
The VSC8562 uses Microsemi's EcoEthernet v2.0 PHY technology, which supports power-saving features such as Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE), ActiPHY link down power saving, and PerfectReach, which adjusts power based on cable length. It also supports fully optimised power consumption at all link speeds.
