The LTC7801IFE is a high-voltage synchronous step-down controller that supports a wide input voltage range of 4-140V, making it ideal for 48V power battery bus applications in humanoid robots. With a wide 0.8-60V output range, it covers multiple voltage rails for servos, computing power, and sensors while extending system runtime through low quiescent current and energy-saving modes.
Input range of 4-140V (150V withstand voltage), perfectly matched to mainstream 48V lithium-ion battery buses. Capable of withstanding high-voltage back-EMF spikes from motor start-stop cycles and emergency braking. Supports 100% duty cycle to prevent derailment during battery voltage drops.
Adjustable output of 0.8-60V capable of directly stepping down to provide 12V joint drive bus, 5V peripherals, 3.3V sensors, and 1.8V computing core. A single chip supports construction of high-power power rails for robotic systems.
Operating quiescent current of just 40μA, with 10μA in shutdown mode. Optional Burst low-ripple energy-saving mode for light loads significantly reduces battery drain during standby or slow movement.
Switch-off frequency adjustable from 50kHz to 900kHz with external clock synchronization support. High-frequency operation reduces inductor and capacitor sizes, suitable for confined, high-density PCBs. Adjustable 5-10V gate drive voltage ensures compatibility with logic and power-stage MOSFETs and GaN devices.
Current-mode control with OPTI-LOOP loop compensation ensures minimal voltage fluctuations during sudden load changes. Integrated power-good signal, soft-start, overvoltage, current limit, and thermal shutdown functions suppress motor surge interference.
24-pin TSSOP package with exposed pads offers excellent thermal performance, ensuring controllable temperature rise during continuous high-power operation in enclosed chassis and confined joint compartments.
