L6390DTR Integrated Circuit Chip 600 V Half-Bridge Gate Driver SO-16 Power Management IC

The L6390DTR is a single-chip half-bridge gate driver for N-channel power MOSFETs and IGBTs, with a floating high-side section that works with a rail up to 600 V. Both outputs are driven from matched delay paths, so the high and low side switch without cycle distortion.

Output drive is 430 mA source and 290 mA sink, enough to charge and discharge the gate of medium power devices at high switching frequency. Cross conduction is prevented by interlocking plus a programmable deadtime function, and a dedicated shutdown pin gives an immediate hardware stop.

Logic inputs are CMOS and TTL compatible down to 3.3 V, so the L6390DTR connects directly to a microcontroller or DSP without level shifting. An integrated bootstrap diode removes an external component from the high-side supply path.

An embedded operational amplifier supports current sensing for field oriented motor control or sensorless back EMF detection, and an integrated comparator with a smart shutdown function reacts quickly to overcurrent and overtemperature faults. Undervoltage lockout is provided for both the low and high side sections.
