AD5338BRMZ Dual 10-Bit Voltage Output DAC Integrated Circuit Chip 8-Lead MSOP

The AD5338BRMZ is a dual, 10-bit, buffered voltage output digital-to-analog converter that operates from a single 2.5 V to 5.5 V supply. Both outputs are driven by on-chip amplifiers able to swing rail to rail, and the references for the two DACs are derived from one reference pin, which keeps the external component count to a minimum.

The AD5338BRMZ draws only 250 uA at 3 V and 300 uA at 5 V, making it suitable for battery-powered instruments. A two-wire I2C-compatible serial interface is used for control, and both DAC outputs can be updated simultaneously by a software command, so two set-points change together without an intermediate state.

A power-on reset circuit holds the outputs at 0 V until a valid write is received. Supplied in an 8-lead MSOP, the AD5338BRMZ fits programmable voltage and current sources, programmable attenuators and compact dual-channel control loops where board area and supply current are critical.

The AD5338 family covers several resolution, reference and package options. Because AD5338 devices are pin and software compatible within each package group, a design can move between AD5338 variants without rewriting firmware.
