The AD5301BRMZ is a single-channel, 8-bit, buffered voltage output digital-to-analog converter operating from a 2.5 V to 5.5 V supply. The output amplifier swings rail to rail, and the reference is derived from the power supply, so no external reference device is required.

Supply current is only 120 uA at 3 V, making the AD5301BRMZ suitable for battery-powered and space-constrained equipment. A two-wire I2C-compatible serial interface runs at clock rates up to 400 kHz, and multiple devices can share the same bus for multi-node control.

The part is available in a 6-lead SOT-23 and an 8-lead MSOP, with a power-on reset circuit that holds the output at 0 V until a valid write occurs. The AD5301BRMZ fits programmable voltage and current sources, programmable attenuators, threshold generation and compact trim circuits.

The AD5301 family covers several resolution, reference and package options. Because AD5301 devices are pin and software compatible within each package group, a design can move between AD5301 variants without rewriting firmware.
