LTC1657IGN Integrated Circuit Chip 16-Bit Voltage-Output DACs SSOP-28 Digital To Analog Converters

The LTC1657IGN is a parallel 16-bit rail-to-rail micropower voltage output digital to analog converter supplied in a narrow 28-lead SSOP. The ordering code identifies the I grade and the 2.048 V built-in reference option, so system span is set without an external reference.

The LTC1657IGN is 16-bit monotonic over temperature with maximum DNL of plus or minus 1 LSB and a deglitched rail-to-rail output of 8 nV-s. Settling time to plus or minus 1 LSB is 20 microseconds, and supply current is 650 microamps typical.

The output buffer can be configured for a gain of 1 or 2, which doubles the available span from the internal reference or from an external one. The parallel 16-bit or 2-byte double-buffered interface suits microcontrollers with a standard external memory bus.

Internal power-on reset drives the output to zero volts and the asynchronous CLR pin repeats the same action on demand, so an actuator never sees an undefined level at startup. Multiplying capability extends the part to gain and attenuation control.
