DS1267BE-050 IC Chip Dual 256-Tap Digital Potentiometers PDIP-14 Digital To Analog Converters

The DS1267BE-050 is a plus or minus 5 V dual digital potentiometer chip with two 256-step resistive elements of 50 kilohms each, the -050 ordering option. Both wipers are set and read back through a 3-wire serial port, with no moving parts or pump noise.

Each potentiometer is 8-bit, and the two can be stacked to form a single 512-step, 9-bit element where finer resolution is needed. The digital interface keeps wiper position stable in vibration and humidity that would move a mechanical trimmer.

The part runs from a single +5 V supply or from plus or minus 5 V rails, which allows bipolar signal level setting. Operating temperature range is minus 40 to plus 85 degrees C, and power consumption is minimal because the design is pumpless.
