DS1267BS-010 Dual 256-Tap Digital Potentiometers Digital To Analog Converter IC SO-16 Integrated Circuit Chip

The DS1267BS-010 is a plus or minus 5 V dual digital potentiometer in a 16-pin SO package, with two 10 kilohms 256-step elements selected by the -010 option. Both wipers are written and read back over a 3-wire serial port.

Each element is 8-bit, and stacking the two gives a single 512-step, 9-bit potentiometer for finer adjustment. There are no moving contacts, so wiper position does not drift under vibration, humidity or repeated adjustment.

Supply can be a single +5 V rail or plus or minus 5 V rails for bipolar signals, and operation is specified from minus 40 to plus 85 degrees C. The pumpless design keeps quiescent current at a minimum, which suits always-on trim circuits.

The DS1267BS-010 is the surface mount counterpart of the 14-pin PDIP version, so both assembly styles can be sourced from the same specification. Typical uses are audio level, LCD bias and programmable gain trimming.
