AD5270BRMZ-20 Digital Rheostat SPI MSOP-10 Integrated Circuit Chip

The AD5270BRMZ-20 is a single-channel, 1024-position digital rheostat that combines a low-tolerance variable resistor with 50-times programmable nonvolatile memory in a 10-Lead MSOP package. The wiper position is moved over an SPI-compatible serial interface, and the same interface reads the stored setting back.

End-to-end resistance is 20 kilohm with a guaranteed maximum error of plus or minus 1 percent, so a programmed resistance value can be used in open-loop designs without per-board trimming. Rheostat mode temperature coefficient is 5 ppm per degree C, keeping the set value stable over temperature.

The 50-TP memory allows the resistance setting to be frozen permanently, in a way comparable to potting a mechanical trimmer, while still permitting unlimited adjustment before the final programming step. No external supply is needed to blow the memory fuse.

Supply flexibility covers 2.7 V to 5.5 V single-supply systems and plus or minus 2.5 V to plus or minus 2.75 V dual supplies for ac or bipolar signal paths, so the same part fits both unipolar and bipolar calibration circuits.
