AD5172BRMZ2.5 Dual One-Time Programmable Digital Potentiometer I2C MSOP-10 Integrated Circuit Chip

The AD5172BRMZ2.5 is a dual-channel, 256-position digital potentiometer with one-time programmable memory in a MSOP-10 package. Each channel performs the same adjustment function as a mechanical trimmer or variable resistor, with solid state reliability and a low temperature coefficient.

A fuse link stores the final resistance setting permanently, which gives a set-and-forget behaviour at lower cost than an EEMEM based part. Adjustment over the 2-wire interface is unlimited until the OTP command is issued, and the OTP value can be overwritten while the preset remains user defined.

End-to-end resistance for this part number is 2.5 kilohm, and both wiper registers can be read back as well as written. Power-on presets both channels to midscale with a typical 5 microsecond settling time, so the circuit starts from a defined state.

The part is fixed-address on the bus, so it can be paired with a second device using the alternate address option. Supply current is 6 microamp maximum, which suits battery powered instruments and always-on trim circuits.
