HMC721LP3E 14 Gbps XOR XNOR Logic Gate with Programmable Output QFN-16 Integrated Circuit Chip

The HMC721LP3E is a XOR / XNOR gate built for high speed serial data and clock paths, working at up to 14 Gbps data rate and 14 GHz clock. Both inputs and outputs are differential and can be AC or DC coupled.

All inputs are terminated with 50 ohm on chip, so external termination networks are not needed and the part can be dropped directly onto a high speed transmission line.

Rise and fall times of 19 ps and 18 ps with a propagation delay near 95 ps keep jitter and eye closure low, and power consumption stays around 230 mW typical.

An output level control pin, VR, sets the differential output swing between 600 mV to 1200 mV, which can be used for loss compensation or to optimise drive level for the receiving device. The LP3E version uses a plastic overmoulded 3 mm x 3 mm package with CML-compatible inputs.
