LTC4313IDD-1 Hot Swappable Two Wire Bus Buffer with Strong Accelerator DFN-8 Integrated Circuit Chip

The LTC4313IDD-1 is a hot swappable 2-wire bus buffer in a DFN-8 package that keeps a live backplane running while cards are inserted or removed. Buffering is bidirectional with low offset and a noise margin of 0.3 times VCC.

This variant provides strong rise time accelerator current. That choice sets how quickly a capacitive bus is pulled high, or whether the buffer can bridge busses running at different logic levels.

During insertion SDA and SCL are precharged to 1 V, and the input is connected to the output only after ENABLE is high and a stop bit or bus idle condition has been detected, so a new card cannot corrupt traffic.

Stuck bus disconnect and recovery logic releases the bus when a slave holds SDA low, and unpowered devices present high impedance on both lines. Non-compliant parts that drive VOL above 0.4 V are tolerated, and several buffers can be cascaded.
