LTC4303IMS8 MSOP-8 Hot Swappable Two Wire I2C Bus Buffer with Rise Time Accelerator IC Chip

The LTC4303IMS8 is a hot swappable 2-wire bus buffer in a MSOP-8 package that lets an I/O card be inserted into or removed from a live backplane without disturbing the data and clock busses.

Bidirectional buffering keeps the backplane capacitance isolated from the card capacitance, so adding boards does not erode the rise time seen by the master, and the rise time accelerator permits larger pull-up resistors.

ENABLE gates the input to output connection, all SDA and SCL lines are precharged to 1 V during insertion, and the pins go high impedance when VCC is zero so an unpowered card is invisible to the bus.

If SDAOUT or SCLOUT stay low for 30 ms, the connection is broken automatically and up to 16 clock pulses are generated on SCLOUT to free the bus, after which the link is restored once the bus is idle.

The LTC4303IMS8 is pin compatible with the LTC4300A-1, works up to 400 kHz, survives plus or minus 15 kV HBM ESD, is specified from -40 to +85 degree C and ships with full traceability. Samples and volume pricing are available on request.
