ADM2795EBRWZ Integrated Circuit Chip 5kV Isolated RS485 RS422 Transceiver, 16-Lead SOIC Wide

The ADM2795EBRWZ is a signal isolated RS485/RS422 transceiver that combines 5kV rms isolation with ±42V ac and dc peak fault protection on the bus pins, so a field port survives both ground differences and miswiring to industrial supply rails.

Level 4 EMC protection is integrated and certified on the A and B pins: IEC 61000-4-5 surge to ±4kV, IEC 61000-4-4 fast transient to ±2kV, IEC 61000-4-2 ESD with ±8kV contact and ±15kV air discharge, and IEC 61000-4-6 conducted RF immunity at 10V/m rms. Human body model ESD on the bus pins exceeds ±30kV.

Immunity is certified across the isolation barrier as well, covering ESD, EFT, surge, conducted and radiated RF, and magnetic immunity, which is what a compliant industrial gateway or drive needs.

Safety approvals include DIN EN IEC 60747-17 (VDE 0884-17) with V IORM of 849V peak and UL 1577 V ISO of 5000V rms for one minute, plus IEC/EN/CSA 60950-1, IEC/CSA 60601-1 and IEC/CSA 61010-1. The part is supplied in a 16-Lead SOIC Wide package.
