LTC4310IMS-1 Bidirectional I2C Bus Isolator up to 100kHz, 10-Lead MSOP

The LTC4310IMS-1 provides bidirectional I2C communication between two buses whose grounds are isolated from one another: each device encodes the logic states of its own bus, sends them across the barrier, and the receiving device drives its bus to the matching state.

The barrier can be bridged by an inexpensive Ethernet transformer for thousands of volts of isolation, or by capacitors where lower isolation is enough, which keeps the cost of an isolated I2C link far below a digital isolator plus isolator supply.

Maximum operating frequency is 100kHz, the part is I2C specification compliant on V-OL and V-IL, and rise time accelerators on SDA and SCL keep edges fast with weak pull-ups. Low voltage level shifting is built in, and ±5kV human body model ESD protects the bus pins.

Stuck bus disconnect and recovery, thermal shutdown and a very low shutdown current make the device safe on a live bus. It is specified over -40°C to 85°C (I grade) and supplied in a 10-Lead MSOP package; every order ships as new stock with full traceability, RoHS compliant and lead free.
