MCS1805GS High-Accuracy Hall-Effect Current Sensor IC with 120kHz Bandwidth and Over-Current Detection

The MCS1805GS is a high-accuracy linear Hall-effect current sensor IC designed for AC or DC current sensing applications. Its differential Hall array effectively cancels out stray magnetic fields, ensuring precise measurements.

The integrated circuit features a low-resistance primary conductor that allows large currents to flow in close proximity to high-accuracy Hall sensors. The magnetic field generated by the current is sensed at two distinct points by integrated Hall transducers, with the difference converted into a voltage proportional to the applied current. A spinning current technique provides low, stable offset performance.

Galvanic isolation between the primary conductive path pins and sensor leads enables the MCS1805GS to replace optoisolators and other isolation devices. The device integrates fast over-current detection (OCD) for monitoring system over-current events and requires minimal external components. Its compact SOIC-8 package saves board space, making it ideal for space-constrained applications.
