AWMF-0156 High Integrated Single Polarization Quad Beamformer Wireless Communication Module for 37 to 40 GHz 5G Applications

The AWMF-0156 is a highly integrated silicon quad core IC designed for 5G phased array applications. This advanced wireless communication module supports four Tx/Rx radiating elements and includes comprehensive beam steering controls for phase and gain management.

Operating in half-duplex mode, the AWMF-0156 enables a single antenna to support both transmission and reception operations. The device incorporates essential features including gain compensation over temperature, temperature reporting, Tx power telemetry, and fast beam switching utilizing on-chip beam weight storage registers. With ESD protection on all pins and operation from +1.8V and +2.5V supplies, the device is packaged in WLCSP (wafer level chip scale package) for simplified flip chip installation in planar phased array antennas. As part of the Gen-2 5G IC family, these were the first commercially available 3GPP compliant ICs for 5G applications.
