STWD100YNXWY3F watchdog timer circuits are self-contained devices designed to prevent system failures caused by hardware errors (such as non-responding peripherals and bus contention) or software errors (such as bad code jumps and code stuck in loops).
The watchdog timer features an input (WDI) and an output (WDO). The input is used to clear the internal watchdog timer periodically within the specified timeout period (twd). While the system operates correctly, it periodically toggles the watchdog input. If the system fails, the watchdog timer is not reset, generating a system alert and asserting the watchdog output (WDO).
