Product Overview

The PS8830BGA105GTR-A3 is a USB4®, DisplayPort™ 2.0 and Thunderbolt™ 4.0 retimer designed for host applications. It conforms to USB4 and USB 3.2 specifications and related USB-IF specifications addressing retimer and alternate mode support, and complies with the VESA DisplayPort Alternate Mode on USB Type-C® 2.0 standard.

In addition to full USB4 Gen 3×2 and USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 support and DisplayPort 4 lane support up to UHBR20, the PS8830BGA105GTR-A3 supports multifunction operation of USB 3.2 Gen 2×1 with DP 1 or 2 lane support as defined by the DP Alt Mode standard. With its fully enabled USB4 and alt mode features, the PS8830 provides a simple but versatile high-performance retimer solution for high-speed signal integrity and compliance margin at the USB-C receptacle. It also provides ultra-low standby power to extend system battery life while enhancing the USB4 ecosystem and user experience.
