The MAX3243 is a multichannel 500kbps RS-232 line driver/receiver with ±15-kV IEC-ESD protection. This integrated circuit features three line drivers, five line receivers, and a dual charge-pump circuit. It includes an always-active noninverting output (ROUT2B), enabling applications using the ring indicator to transmit data while the device is powered down.
