The ADS1230 is a precision 20-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that provides a complete front-end solution for bridge sensor applications. With an onboard low-noise programmable gain amplifier (PGA), onboard oscillator, and precision 20-bit delta-sigma ADC, this IC is specifically designed for weigh scales, strain gauges, and pressure sensors.
The low-noise PGA offers gains of 64 or 128, supporting full-scale differential inputs of ±39mV or ±19.5mV respectively. The delta-sigma ADC features 20-bit effective resolution with a 3rd-order modulator and 4th-order digital filter. The device supports two data rates: 10SPS (with 50Hz and 60Hz rejection) and 80SPS, and can be clocked by internal oscillator or external clock source.
