The 88E1512 is an integrated 10/100/1000Mbps Energy Efficient Ethernet transceiver. This transceiver implements the Ethernet physical layer portion of the 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 10BASE-T standards. Manufactured using standard digital CMOS process, it contains all active circuitry required to transmit and receive data on standard CAT 5 unshielded twisted pair cable.
